Are all paintings original?
Unless otherwise noted, original paintings are one-of-a-kind works created by Cari Long. Once an original painting has been purchased, it will no longer be available for sale.
Prints and reproductions, when offered, will be clearly identified as such in the product description.
Are paintings sold framed or unframed?
Framing information will be included in the description for each individual piece. Some paintings may be sold framed and ready to hang, while others may be sold unframed so that you can select a frame that best complements your home and personal style.
Please review the individual artwork listing carefully for framing details.
Do the colors of the artwork look exactly the same in person?
Every effort is made to photograph artwork as accurately as possible. However, colors may vary slightly depending on your computer, phone, or tablet screen and its display settings.
Because original artwork has variations in texture, brushwork, surface, and color, your painting may have subtle details that are even more apparent when viewed in person.
How do I care for an encaustic painting?
Encaustic paintings are created with layers of beeswax and resin and, with a little care, will remain beautiful for indefinitely. Display your painting indoors and avoid prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, freezing temperatures, or areas with significant temperature fluctuations. The surface can be gently dusted with a soft, lint-free cloth, and over time may be lightly buffed with a clean, soft cloth to restore its natural sheen. Because the wax surface can be scratched or damaged by pressure, avoid placing sharp objects against the artwork and handle it carefully when moving or storing.
Where do you ship?
Artwork is currently available for shipping within the United States and Canada.
Shipping costs, when applicable, will be calculated or communicated during the purchasing process. Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
For Canadian orders, the purchaser is responsible for any applicable customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or import charges that may be assessed upon delivery.
How will my artwork be packaged?
Artwork is carefully packaged to help protect it during transit. Packaging methods may vary depending on the size, medium, and whether the artwork is framed.
Please retain all original packaging until you have inspected your artwork and confirmed that it arrived safely.
What if my artwork is damaged during shipping?
If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible after delivery. Include photographs of the artwork, the packaging, and the shipping box so that I can evaluate the damage and, when appropriate, initiate a claim with the shipping carrier.
Please keep all original packaging materials until the issue has been resolved.
Damage caused during shipping will be handled separately from the general no-returns policy below.
Do you accept commissions?
Yes. I accept a limited number of commissioned paintings based on my availability and whether the requested subject is a good fit for my style and body of work.
Commissioned artwork requires a deposit before work begins. The amount of the deposit, estimated completion timeline, size, subject matter, price, shipping costs, and other project details will be agreed upon before the commission is started.
Because commissioned artwork is created specifically for the client, deposits are non-refundable once work on the painting has begun, and completed commissioned artwork is considered final sale.

Can I request an exact copy of a painting that has already sold?
Because each original painting is unique, I do not create exact copies of previously sold work. However, depending on availability, I may be able to create a commissioned piece inspired by a similar subject, location, color palette, or feeling.
The resulting painting will be an original work rather than a reproduction of the previous painting.
Can I purchase a painting as a gift?
Absolutely. Original artwork can make a meaningful gift for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, housewarmings, and other special occasions.
If you are purchasing artwork as a gift and have a special request regarding packaging or a gift message, please contact me before your order ships, and I will do my best to accommodate it.
How should I care for my original artwork?
To help preserve your artwork, avoid displaying it in prolonged direct sunlight or in areas with excessive moisture, heat, or significant temperature fluctuations.
Original paintings should be handled carefully and dusted gently when necessary. Avoid using household cleaners, water, or cleaning products directly on the painted surface.
For framed artwork, professional framing and conservation-quality materials are recommended when appropriate.
Can I use images of the artwork after I purchase it?
Purchase of an original painting, print, or commissioned artwork transfers ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright and reproduction rights remain with Cari Long unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Artwork may not be reproduced, copied, commercially distributed, or used to create products without prior written permission.
Returns & Final Sale Policy
I want you to feel confident when selecting artwork for your home and encourage you to carefully review the photographs, dimensions, framing information, and description provided before making your purchase.
All Artwork Sales Are Final
Due to the original and unique nature of the artwork, all sales are final and returns, refunds, and exchanges are not accepted, except in the case of artwork that arrives damaged during shipping.
This policy applies to original artwork, prints and reproductions, and completed commissioned artwork.
Please carefully review all dimensions and product details before purchasing. If you have questions about a piece before placing your order, please contact me. I am happy to provide additional information when available.
Commission Deposits
Commission projects require a deposit before work begins. Once work on the commissioned artwork has begun, the deposit is non-refundable.
The remaining balance and any applicable shipping charges must be paid according to the terms agreed upon for the individual commission. Because commissioned artwork is created specifically for the client, completed commissions are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Artwork Damaged in Transit
If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me promptly after delivery and provide:
Your name and order information
Photographs of the damaged artwork
Photographs of the shipping box and packaging
Photographs showing any visible damage to the exterior of the package
Please retain the artwork and all original packaging materials while the claim is being reviewed.
Once the damage has been documented, I will work with you to determine the appropriate resolution and, when applicable, coordinate a claim with the shipping carrier.
Lost or Missing Packages
If tracking information indicates that your package has been lost in transit, please contact me so that I can work with the shipping carrier to investigate the shipment.
If a package is marked as delivered but cannot be located, please first check with household members, neighbors, building management, and the shipping carrier. I will assist where reasonably possible, but I cannot guarantee replacement or reimbursement for packages confirmed by the carrier as successfully delivered to the address provided with the order.
Incorrect Shipping Addresses
Please carefully review your shipping information before submitting your order. Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
Additional shipping costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, refused delivery, or an unclaimed shipment may be the responsibility of the purchaser.
